Fallen Tear: The Ascension Releases in Early Access with Launch Trailer
Developer Winter Crew Studios and publisher CMD Studios have officially released Fallen Tear: The Ascension. First released as a Kickstarter project that launched on the 27th of August of 2024, the title passed its funding goal in its 35-day period, passing it several times over. With 3,002 backers, Fallen Tear: The Ascension was set to launch sometime in November 2025.
While it's been a while since then, the team has been faithfully creating the experience, keeping players in touch with the updates and backers included in the development. After a little more than two years of development, Fallen Tear: The Ascension has launched.
This metroidvania open-world title is inspired by titles like Hollow Knight, trying to bring back the metroidvania craze from the days of old. The launch trailer gives us a one-minute-long look at the gameplay elements, including combat, world traversal, bosses, and the Bond system.

The Early Access launch has been received positively by the community, as the game is nearly at 100 reviews with 91% positive overall. Set to release sometime in Q4 2026, it's had a strong start, as the Early Access features approximately 35% of the full game.
For those interested, you can check out the launch trailer above. Fallen Tear: The Ascension is out now on PC via Steam for £16.75, with a 10% Introductory Offer, bringing the price down to £15.07 until the 31st of March 2026.
