GDC 2018: HTC Vive Pro Priced, Standard Gets a Price Drop

Today, HTC has announced the pricing for their new Vive Pro headset, along with a slash for their current generation unit.

The new Vive Pro will be available for £799, releasing globally on April 5th. If you purchase before the 3rd June, you'll also get a free six-month subscription to Viveport (usually £6.99 - rising to £8.99 on March 22nd). With this, you get to choose up to 5 games a month from the over 400 strong library.

For those after the current generation Vive, you can waltz on over to your favourite store and pick it up for £499 - which is still slightly more than its main competitor, the Oculus Rift.

HTC touts the Vive Pro as the "best premium VR experience available on the market today and improves resolution, audio and comfort for VR enthusiasts and enterprise customers." It's fully compatible with all of your old peripherals too, so if you're planning on upgrading that will take some of the financial pain out, at least.

For those in the UK, you can get your pre-orders in now on Vive.com, Scan, GAME and Overclockers. Can you believe that it has been two years since the original released?
