GDC 2018: Nintendo eShop Working on Improvements

Nintendo’s Senior Manager for Publisher and Developer Relations, Damon Baker, has come forward at the Game Developers Conference to acknowledge the issues facing the Nintendo eShop, specifically the problems users are having of being able to discover and find the games they want.

Disappointingly, Damon did not reveal any plans to fix the current state of the Nintendo eShop, instead explaining that there are plans in the works and in the meantime Nintendo will be utilising social media platforms, websites, shows and conferences to promote products and services.

The problems of poor search functions and lack of content filtering is an issue for not only customers but developers too, who may be looking to push a product or service. While Nintendo vocalising that there is an issue with its eShop, the lack of any plans to resolve them is frustrating.
