Crema, the developer and publisher for the upcoming creature collector Temtem: Pioneers, just released a frequently asked questions section for their newly unveiled game. Here is what the team had to say!

Is Temtem: Pioneers the sequel to Temtem?

The short answer is no. Temtem: Pioneers is a survival adventure with real-time ARPG combat, which is a genre that the team wants to explore while getting familiar with a new engine. This also doesn't mean that Temtem 2 is fully discarded from future possibilities!

Will Temtem: Pioneers be a live service game?

No. Temtem: Pioneers will be created with the purpose of having a beginning and an end! The team wanted to be very transparent about this.

Will Temtem: Pioneers have microtransactions?

Crema does not have microtransactions — MTX for short — planned for Temtem: Pioneers.

Will Temtem: Pioneers require an online connection?

No. Temtem: Pioneers will be playable as a solo experience, so there's no need for an internet connection. Crema states that they learned that they should give their community a choice after Temtem!

Will there be Digital Tems in Temtem: Pioneers?

Digital Tems, which are man-made, have not made it to the Archipelago yet; so, no! They will not naturally appear in the Downbelow, so they won't be included in the 200+ Temtem available.

Will Temtem: Pioneers be available on console?

While the team intends to eventually release Temtem: Pioneers on consoles, they won't be making it a priority for now. This allows them to focus their efforts on PC, which offers the necessary wiggle room for better reaction times. Additionally, since the game is still in early development, it would be hard for them to reliably predict what consoles will be available at the time of launch.

Will Temtem: Pioneers be Steam Deck compatible?

The answer is that Crema will do their best to provide a good experience on the Steam Deck. After all, both Temtem and Temtem: Swarm have become Steam Deck verified!

When will Temtem: Pioneers launch?

Crema is aiming for a 2028 release. Kickstarter backers who have Alpha access will be able to access it much sooner and provide feedback!

Will Temtem: Pioneers' price go up after Kickstarter?

The answer is yes. The team wants to thank those who believed and trusted in the project early by lowering the price, so early backers will have the lowest price, then late pledgers, and, finally, it will go up once more outside of Kickstarter. More information about the price will be revealed later on.

Will Temtem: Pioneers be available on Mac and Linux?

The team mentions that the Kickstarter Steam key for Temtem: Pioneers is only for Windows and Steam consoles. Their previous titles that released on other OS didn't perform strongly enough in sales to warrant the effort and time needed. Thankfully, Proton allows Windows games to work in Linux via Steam Play!
