Meet Tears of Avia's Take on the RPG Archetypes

Releasing later this summer for PC and Xbox One, turn-based strategy RPG Tears of Avia looks to proudly flaunt its adherence to the tropes of the fantasy RPG genre—not that doing so is necessarily a bad thing. CooCooSqueaky Games seems is especially proud of its deep character progression system, with hundreds of unique skills over the game's five classes. Take a look at the game in the latest gameplay trailer above.

Customising the party of five looks to be a major draw in Tears of Avia. There's Kai, the warrior with a "strong heart and an iron resolve"; Reina, the grounded ranger who "always comes out ahead"; Iris, the "self-assured" mage; Raul, the brawler who yearns for a sense of purpose to put his strength towards; and Momoko, the "selfless and caring" priest. Customising the skills of these five and helping them work together in battle with powerful combos is core to Tears of Avia's gameplay experience. If that's up your alley, keep an eye on this one in the coming weeks.

Tears of Avia releases this summer on PC and Xbox One.
