Spirit City: Lofi Sessions' Winter Update is Live Now!

Spirit City: Lofi Sessions' Winter Update is Live Now!

As the holidays are just around the corner, players can begin cosying up in-game with Moocube Games' latest update to their gamified focus tool, Spirit City: Lofi Sessions! But don't worry if you don't care for winter — there's more to it than that.

Starting off — and possibly the most evident off the bat — is the changes to the UI, which has been rebuilt from scratch. This allowed the team to add some accessibility options, as well as prepare the game for the controller support that's coming in 2026. Now, players can change the UI colour (via the Settings Menu) and scale the font. While these are the only currently new options, players can expect new ones coming in future updates.

A notable addition to the UI changes is that the text style can be flat or gradient, and the music player now has a gentle visual effect whenever there's a track playing (this can be adjusted via the Settings Menu). This arrives just in time with the new Lofi Girl holiday playlist available in-game!

For those who use the Pomodoro Timer, there's a new addition to remind players the session is over: a little tune will play, and it won't stop until it's acted upon (namely by skipping or continuing). This is very helpful for those, like me, who may forget the timer went off.

That's not all, though: there are tons of new content available, from customisation to new features! Starting off, players can look forward to unlocking yet another new Spirit (and its Steam achievement); this new buddy is winter-themed, and Christmas lovers are sure to appreciate welcoming him.

If you, like me, love the various Spirits and want to do more with them, then there's good news — there's a new activity that allows players to hang out with their companions! It can be found by going to Activity > Fireplace > Playing. Each pet has its own animation for this interaction, too.

As for the Avatar, there have been tons of new customisation options added:

  • Three new shoes.
  • Four tops.
  • Six new dresses (found in the new Outfit category).
  • Eight new ear styles (including an option to have no ears).
  • Six new head shapes.

This opens up the ability to customise the Avatar further to the players' liking! More dresses are set to arrive in future updates, too.

Clothing isn't the only feature that got more options, as players can look forward to the various new colour customisation options added to the following items:

  • Log Cabin Ceiling and Walls.
  • Snowflake Flooring and Wallpaper.
  • Gingerbread Walls.
  • Snowflake and Holiday Hanging Lights.
  • Snowflake Curtains.
  • Customisable Fireplace Options.

There are also a whopping eight new static background versions of the train scenery that can be used for the bedroom now, and it's available to all who own the base game — no need for the DLC itself. But for those who already have the downloadable content, Cozy Kitchen and All Aboard!, they've both received new holiday-themed items to spruce up the areas.

Last but definitely not least, there are various quality-of-life additions:

  • Players can now enable the game to automatically start in the last Activity selected (can be changed via Settings Menu).
  • The little tune to remind players that the Pomodoro Timer session is over can be enabled or disabled.
  • Players can choose from various timer sounds (including a cute train one).
  • Most delete options now have a hold action to avoid misclicks.

Mooncube Games has been evidently hard at work to bring even more to players! If you haven't bought Spirit City: Lofi Sessions, now would be a good time to do it, as it's part of the Steam Cozy Quest event. This means it's at a 40% discount (dropping the price to £5.99) until the 1st of December!

Spirit City: Lofi Sessions is available now on Steam
