Stardew Valley 1.6. is Coming This Month!

Stardew Valley is one of those games that brought a genre to the forefront; for many fans of farming sims, it was a breath of fresh air and to many newcomers, it was the first time they experienced the joy of harvesting a fresh batch of hand-grown crops! That and figuring out which eligible bachelor or bachelorette to propose to. Now, eight years after it's release, solo-developer ConcernedApe, has given us some details on the next big update, 1.6.

Before we go into details, please note the following: the developer themselves have recommended just playing the update and finding out the new additions via game play, rather than reading the patch notes. As such, if you want to go into the experience blind, skip over the next paragraph! The new update works with existing save files, so no need to worry about continuing on your farm. Please note, however, that you may miss some of the new additions!

While we don't know the specifics on what update 1.6 will contain, we do know a new farm type is one of the additions, which explains why the developer recommends starting a fresh file. In addition to this, a new major town festival is coming, in addition to two smaller ones. New late-game content is planned, as well as new items to craft! Villagers will also put on winter clothes for those chilly months, making it slightly less immersion-breaking when they scamper around in their summer best in snow drifts! New dialogues, Joja alternatives to end-game quests, and rewards for completing billboard requests are also included, so keep an eye out! Finally, the game will now support multiplayer for up to 8 players on the PC.

The 1.6 update for Stardew Valley is set to be released on 19th March!
