The Steel Rats' Giant Promotional Robot is Being Sold For Charity

Some collector's editions are a little outrageous, costing hundreds for an additional piece of physical content. Upcoming action-arcade motorbike combat game Steel Rats has gone one step further, with developer Tate Multimedia selling a one-of-a-kind special edition, the "Super Turbo Ultimate Wreck & Ride Collector’s Edition" which includes their nine foot tall, 770kg full size replica of the Screamer junk robot from the game. The replica was built earlier this year, and has doubled as both a promotional tool and fully-functioning game demo station.

This edition of the game is being auctioned on eBay, with the bidding beginning at £5000, and will benefit four charities worldwide: Special Effect, Make a Wish, AbleGamers and Gaming Aid will all benefit from the proceeds. You wouldn't just be buying the giant robot either, as this collector's edition also comes with a special limited edition steel canister, branded whisky glasses, a t-shirt, stickers and pins, and three copies of the game. The auction goes live today, and is open to bidders from Europe, Japan and North America.

Steel Rats launches on the 7th of November for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Reviews the games nobody else will, so you don't have to. Give her a bow and arrow and you have an ally for life. Will give 10s for food.
