Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 - Developer Interview

Today at gamescom, the developers of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 were interviewed by IGN and we learned a few interesting things about the upcoming title. IGN specifically interviewed Andy Gentile who is a game designer on the title.

The first question asked to Andy was: What was your experience with these games? Andy replied with; the series has been near and dear to me and i’m very excited for the series to come back.

The second question was, how did you become part of the Tony Hawk game dev team, to which Andy replied. He played a lot of 1, 2 and 3 back in the day and became a games tester and worked his way up from there.

The third question Andy was asked was, as a longtime fan and someone who is working what are the challenges of balancing beginner inspired gameplay and gameplay that will also make the hardcore fanbase happy? Andy replied with, it can be but this is just a part of the development process, and it’s something that every team goes through.

The fourth question asked was, it has been a few years and new skaters have been introduced in the skater world, will these skaters be available in the game? Andy replied, yeah there are a few skaters that are returning and there are a few new ones including leo baker and Riley hawk.

The fifth question was, are there any new easter eggs in this game? Andy replied there are some original easter eggs and some new ones added as well.

The final question was, are there any new online features added to the game as the original didn’t have online. Andy replied to say that there is online functionality and it includes modes like free roam, skill challenges, and horse.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 is releasing on the 4th of September 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
