How To Toggle Crouch In Days Gone On Steam
Recently, I decided to revisit Days Gone on PC and was shocked to find that, on my gamepad, crouch was a hold command, not a toggle! Having to hold the crouch button in a third-person action game with shooting mechanics is truly heinous (and I don’t remember having to do so the last time I played the game). Anyway, if you’re here looking for a solution to the issue, I’ve got you covered.
Note: this was done on an Xbox One controller, although I’m sure this method will work with a range of alternative pads.
- Firstly, head to the options menu, and from there, scroll across to the Controller tab.
- Next, click on Customize Controls to open up the Steam overlay.
- Hit the Edit Layout option, and find the “Crouch/Roll” command (currently set to the B button or its equivalent).
- Click the cog icon next to the command to open the settings, and down near the bottom, you’ll see the option to toggle crouch.

And there we have it, a simple fix to an annoying problem — one that isn’t immediately obvious due to the lack of an in-game option.
