gamescom Opening Night Live 2025: RESIDENT EVIL REQUIEM

CAPCOM made an appearance in gamescom Opening Night Live, and it's pretty obvious for which title they decided to show up. Resident Evil Requiem is the next entry into the Resident Evil franchise, saying farewell to Ethan Winters and picking up with a brand-new protagonist.

The title has players returning to the iconic Raccoon City, taking control of the intelligence analyst for the FBI Grace Ashcroft. Though, the city might be a bit different as players of Resident Evil 2 might recognise it — the approved sterilisation to control the outbreak led to bombings, leaving it in ruins.

Classic survival horror returns, and a new era of Resident Evil begins in 2026. Zombies are back alongside mutations that we've come to know and love when Resident Evil Requiem launches on the 27th of February 2026.
