Blizzard Sue Unico Over Hearthstone Clone

Blizzard Entertainment have filed a law suit against developer Unico over their game Legend of Crouching Dragon. The title is a shameless Hearthstone rip off and Blizzard are seeking $1.65 million in damages and the possible shutdown of Legend of Crouching Dragon on the grounds of infringement of intellectual property rights.

Legend of Crouching Dragon appears shameless in its similarity to Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. From the title screen to the cards, the game borrows substantially from Blizzard's popular card game.

Legend of Crouching Dragon was first brought to Blizzards attention back in October with Mike Mohaime addressing the issue during BlizzCon.

I am aware of another game that is infringing on our Hearthstone intellectual property, and so our legal department is taking legal action against that to protect our intellectual property.

HearthStone: Heroes of Warcraft has been hugely popular and has just entered an open beta testing period. It is coming to PC and Mac later this year and to iOS and Android platforms sometime thereafter.
