Destiny: The Collection Detailed

Activision and Bungie let loose the trailer for Destiny: The Collection confirming the release date of 20th September 2016 alongside the newest expansion Rise of Iron also due that day.

The Collection includes the base game along with The Dark Below, House of Wolves, The Taken King and the Rise of Iron expansions bringing you totally up to date. Making it a good entry point to the franchise if you're new. The Collection has a suggested retail price of £49.99 although if you purchase digitally and are a "legacy" player; that is, you are a last gen owner of Destiny: The Taken King, you can upgrade to a current-gen version for a discount.

If you pre-order Destiny: The Collection you'll also receive a black and silver Iron Gjallarhorn variant weapon and an Iron Gjallarwing Sparrow. The Collection is out on the 20th September 2016 for £49.99 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

You can find out more at the official site here. With more details on the upgrade offer here.

Might have a reason to purchase it on my Xbox One if this is the final one until Destiny 2, played it up to House of Wolves on PS4.

Yeah I have the base game on XB1 but never bought any expansions, I was thinking about getting The Taken King a few weeks back so I might wait for this then grab everything at once! :)

It would be better since more people will be jumping since it's such a value pack, I did get Taken King and played it only a week or two since I blitzed through the main campaign and never got into anything else.

It just looks like more multiplayer nonsense to me... Is there a half decent story?

I've pretty much only played the single-player base game content and even though I love the aesthetic and feel of the thing (the gunplay feels really nice), the story is nonsense gobbledegook trying to be meaningful. It's fine whilst playing it and it's fun to play mind you.

I don't know if the expansion content fleshes it out so it's actually coherent! :)

There is a story, it's just fragmented and scattered around the game that it's not worth recommending to play for the story. Just read a wiki on Destiny's story, would be more enjoyable.
