Great news from Ubisoft as Far Cry 4 has been announced. And it will be released in November, for current and previous gen consoles.
Ubisoft had this to say, regarding the story, in a press-release:
In Far Cry® 4, players find themselves in Kyrat, a breathtaking, perilous and wild region of the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king. Using a vast array of weapons, vehicles, and animals, players will write their own story across an exotic open-world landscape.
So, not content with giving an entire island, this time they chose to give a mountain range - the most well-known one which covers Tibet and parts of China.
Ubisoft Montreal is leading development, aided by Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Shanghai, Ubisoft Kiev and Ubisoft-owned Red Storm Entertainment, Given that Far Cry 3 was created in part by Montreal and Red Storm in 2012, it seems likely they have been working on this for the past couple of years. They have until 21st November to get it ready for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
It is already out for pre-order and if you do, you get exclusive content in way of a Special Edition. This gives players "Hurk’s Redemption, a series of three action-packed single-player missions featuring the popular character Hurk from Far Cry 3’s DLC. The Limited Edition also includes Hurk’s signature harpoon gun called “The Impaler”".
There will be an exclusive look at Far Cry 4 at the Ubisoft booth at E3. They will likely really start pushing this as time goes on, given how much Executive Producer Dan Hay seems to like it.
“Following the success of Far Cry 3, we wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise players and exceed fans’ expectations, Given the unique setting, we feel Far Cry® 4 will stand out as a top first-person shooter and we’re eager to reveal more about the game in the coming months.”
- Dan Hay, Executive Producer, Ubisoft
And of course, we will reveal all as it becomes available,
