Halo: Nightfall First Look

What happens when you hand one of the most successful first person franchises to one of the most prolific Director/Producers of the last 40 years? Halo: Nightfall happens. During their Xbox One reveal in May last year, Microsoft announced that a live action TV series based in the Halo universe was on the cards. Better still this series would have none other than Ridley Scott would be Executive Producer.

The Halo series of games has a huge following of dedicated fans so when it came to producing the TV series there is nobody better than the director of Alien, Blade Runner and Black Hawk Down.

In this trailer we learn of a compound that kills humans selectively and that 'they' have their hands on it. Whether 'they' means The Covenant or not is not given away in the video. It appears that Halo: Nightfall centres on, or at least involves the ODST team and a plan to destroy the element before it can be used.

This will not be the first live action series based on Halo however. Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn was a five part series produced as a run up to the release of Halo 4. It proved highly popular and won multiple awards. With Ridley Scott at the helm, there's no doubt that Halo: Nightfall could equally as popular with the game's fans.

Halo: Nightfall is due to arrive in November, coinciding with the release of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
