Joe Danger Remastered for an 8-Year-Old Kid

Joe Danger — a game in which you must play as the world's most daring stuntman — was recently rendered outdated on the Apple store, which did not allow users to download nor update it any further. Hello Games received a letter from the father of a disconsolate eight-year-old within the autism spectrum, hoping they'd update the game.

Sean Murray shared in a tweet the mail from the father (while anonymising him via deleting his personal information such as his name), sharing his regret for leaving Joe Danger unattended due to the success of No Man's Sky.

This began a thread of tweets by him in which he talks about how, as game developers, it's easy to underestimate how much impact and reach games can have, no matter how big or small developers feel the games particularly were.

Finally, the thread culminated, as Sean Murray spoke about how rebuilding Joe Danger for iOS became a hobby project, and has now finally been re-released on the Apple store with a graphical overhaul, a new engine, gamepad support, better performance with optimised shaders, and more!
