Launch Trailer - Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord Gets a Modern Reimagining

Digital Eclipse have announced that they are working on a remake of arguably the most influential RPG of all time. Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord was originally released for the Apple II way back in 1981, and it was the first party-based dungeon crawler and introduced many elements that would become standard and influence many popular games, such as Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Baldur's Gate.

The game is being built on the back of the original game's code but will feature completely revamped visuals, party management, combat, and more. You can even overlay the original interface over the top for even more nostalgia.

Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord has launched into early access for $29.99USD/£24.99GBP on both Steam and GOG with the price expected to increase as it nears final release. More information on the Early Access plan can be found here.
