Leaked Windows 10 Build Reveals New Xbox App
If you didn't already know, Microsoft recently announced their latest operating system Windows 10, which plans to change the way they integrate Windows across all their devices. So it comes to no surprise that Microsoft want's to try and integrate Xbox into it for PC gamers.
We've already seen the start of it with Windows 8 having Xbox Music and many Windows games having Gamertag sign in and Achievements. But this newest leak which comes from their latest consumer build shows plans for a new Xbox app or for PC gamers, you could call Games for Windows Live 2.0...
Well at least, let's hope not. Not much has been revealed from the leak but some screenshots have made it's way courtesy of The Verge.
And It certainly looks like, they're going to introduce a SmartGlass style app which will be your gateway to your Achievements, friends list and the Xbox Store.
It's not much but a start for Xbox gamers and PC users. Of course, it isn't much for dedicated PC gamers, who'd prefer Steam over anything, especially considering how bad Games For Windows Live was before it was killed off earlier in the year. That's why Xbox boss Phil Spencer has said that they have plans to talk about gaming on Windows with a Windows 10 event, taking place in January 2015.
Let's hope they've learn't their lesson and they don't try and take on Steam.
