Merida and Maleficent Join Disney Infinity 2.0

Going for alliteration with their announcement, Disney has revealed that Maleficent and Merida will be joining Marvel in Disney Infinity 2.0 this fall. 

With her iconically thick Scottish accent ("I cannae believe this place"), Merida opens the trailer, which emphasises players' ability to shape the world of Disney Infinity. Players can also choose to embrace their darker side with the villain Maleficent (who's most recently the titular character of Disney's Maleficent). As Merida, players can use both sword and bow combo attacks like ricocheting arrows and upgrades such as icy arrows that freeze her enemies in place. 

Maleficent turns to the dark arts for help against her opponents, making use of area-of-effect and projectile attacks to deal with multiple enemies at once in the form of entangling brambles or a murder of well, murderous crows. 

The figures will hit shelves separately this fall along with the rest of the Disney Infinity 2.0 line, including the Avengers starter set.
