Microsoft and Sega Announce Strategic Alliance for a 'Super Game'

Through a press release, Microsoft and Sega have announced that they will be working together by allowing Sega to explore game development using the Microsoft Azure cloud. This partnership will also help build Sega’s previously announced ‘Super Game’ which is far from launch at this point.

Xbox CVP, Sarah Bond said ‘SEGA has played such an iconic role in the gaming industry and has been a tremendous partner over the years.’ She also said that Microsoft is looking forward to working together with Sega as they ‘explore new ways to create unique gaming experiences for the future using Microsoft cloud technologies.’

Sega COO, Yukio Sugino also had something to say about this strategic alliance that the company seeks to ‘further advance our game development so that our titles can be enjoyed by fans all over the world; in this regard, we aim to build an alliance that utilizes both SEGA's powerful game development capabilities and Microsoft's cutting-edge technology and development environment.’

What remains to be seen is what Xbox users end up getting from this partnership. Maybe the games end up hitting Xbox Game Pass day one, or Sega might start porting all its games to Xbox now. What do you think? Let us know down below.
