Mortal Kombat X for Last-Gen Cancelled

Mortal Kombat X for Last-Gen Cancelled

When Mortal Kombat X was announced, it was also announced for PS3 and Xbox 360, though with a release to follow some months later.

WB Games have come out and said that will no longer be happening.

After months of development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has come to the regrettable conclusion that we cannot release Mortal Kombat X for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Please know our teams worked diligently to meet the quality standards set by the current-gen versions of the game. We were not able to get the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to the quality expected of a Mortal Kombat game and are very sorry for not being able to deliver the products as originally planned.

If you pre-ordered Mortal Kombat X for PS3 or Xbox 360, please go to the retail location where you pre-ordered the game and you will receive a full refund.

This is unfortunate, but was clearly the case. Mortal Kombat X came out on PC, iOS, Android, PS4 and Xbox One back in April, and no word had come from NetherRealm Studio about the last-gen release of the game.

Yes, apparently smartphones can deliver the quality expected, but not consoles capable of Grand Theft Auto V...

Man, people don't like the fact I said 'What the announcement says is "The iPhone is more capable of delivering the experience we want, than the Xbox 360 or PS3."' on reddit...

You release a stripped down version for smartphones, yet can't release a stripped down version for a console - and I'm wrong for bringing that up?

Good. It would of been terrible, especially since it was being done by High Voltage, who messed up the PC version! Also, if you haven't take a look at Shadow of Mordor on last-gen it's a terrible, performance wise.
