Mount & Blade – Warband Coming to Consoles

Six years after the original release on the PC, Mount & Blade: Warband is now console bound. The game, which allows you to sit on a horse and bark orders at your band of militia in the field, started life as a stand alone expansions to Taleworld Entertainment's first game, Mount and Blade. The Turkish developer are working on the game's full sequel, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, at present, but in the meantime, they want the first game to be available to a wider audience.

Taleworld have joined forces with Koch Media for the world-wide retail distribution of the game, but they are also self-publishing to the Xbox and PSN digital stores as well. The game is expected in the second quarter of the year.

Set in medieval themed battlefields, Mount & Blade - Warband is a unique blend of intense strategic fighting, real time army command, and deep kingdom management. It cites itself as an Action RPG, but with elements of sandbox games and elements of strategy. As the name suggests, you will spend most of your time mounted.
