New Content Coming to Splatoon

Splatoon will be receiving a huge host of new content next month, according to Nintendo.

The update, which will be available to all users on 6th August, includes tonnes of in-game content including new weapon types, an increase to the game’s level-cap and more than 40 pieces of new gear.

Two new matchmaking modes, called Squad Battle and Private Battle are also being introduced. Squad Battle allows you to team up with your friends in Ranked Battles rather than being put with stranger 'Inklings', while Private Battle gives you the change to create a unique match match between up to eight of your friends. 

The update will also see the level cap rise from 20 to 50 as well as a rating increase, introducing 2 new tiers S and S+, both of which rank higher than A+.

Nintendo has also confirmed that this won't be the only update coming to Splatoon. Following this update, more content will be rolled out through Summer and Autumn.
