NZXT Announce New Internal USB Hub

NZXT Announce New Internal USB Hub

It's the little things that make a difference to a customised PC. All the components in the world mean nothing if you haven't got the right sockets to put them in. Socket shortage is a big problem for PC users, especially those who like to juggle a lot of peripherals and case modes, with fan controllers, lights and 5 1/4" bay EZ-Bake ovens, easily taking over an entire bank of USB ports.

So it'll come as pleasing news to many that NZXT have announced an update to their internal USB hub. The original device, the IU01, gave two USB ports inside of your case, along with three internal "header" style connections, meaning that devices could be neatly hidden inside the case and additional external devices needing a header connection (like front panel ports or card readers) could be connected. It was the only device of its kind and it went down a storm with many case builders, including our very own news editor who swears by his.

This new version adds some additional flair to an already winning formula. The look of the device has been made sleeker, with a full casing now instead of the previous bare circuit board look, and it's magnetic now, rather than relying on a sticky velcro pad for attaching it to your case. To make things more 2016, the device now takes its power from a molex plug, rather then the fan power connector of the previous model.
