Release Date Announced for Just Cause 3: Mech Land Assault

Release Date Announced for Just Cause 3: Mech Land Assault

Just in case there weren’t enough ridiculous explosions in Just Cause 3, we’re getting more in the next expansion. The second content pack from the Air, Land and Sea Expansion is arriving on 3rd June for Expansion Pass holders, featuring Mechs as the land vehicle of choice. If you didn’t buy the expansion pass, then you’ll be able to buy the DLC as a standalone item from the 10th of June.

Mech Land Assault takes Rico to the new island of Lacrima, home to an abandoned eDen research base and a prison camp run by the mysterious Black Hand. There’s a catch though; the island is defended by giant Mechs, so Rico will need the new Bavarium Power Core rifle to disable their shields and hijack them. Once inside, Rico can use their powerful cannons and the GRIP Gravity Guns to hurl and smash the enemy into pieces. Or of course, you could just go on a destructive rampage in your Mech, and let’s be honest; we’ll all end up doing that at least once.

"The Bavarium Wingsuit from the Sky Fortress DLC fundamentally changed how Rico could traverse Medici. This time, we wanted to shake up how Rico interacts with his environment in a similar way,” explained Tobias Andersson, Senior Producer at Avalanche Studios. “The new Mechs allow Rico to throw enemies, vehicles and chaos objects around like tennis balls – increasing the scope for physics-based fun. Whether you’re juggling a small car or punching helicopters out of the sky, the Mechs give you the opportunity to mess with your surroundings in creative, explosive ways.”

The Mech Land Assault Pack is priced at £9.49/ $11.99 / €11.99 on its own. Alternatively, you can buy the Air, Land & Sea Expansion Pass for £19.99/ $24.99 / €24.99, which will get you all three planned packs. The final content pack, Bavarium Sea Heist, will be released by the end of summer 2016, and like this pack, it will come to Expansion Pass holders a week earlier than the general public.
