Say Hello to Strife in the Latest Darksiders Genesis Trailer

It's relieving to see a promising franchise like Darksiders live on, even through uneven sales performance and publisher buyouts. In Darksiders Genesis, the latest series entry from Gunfire Games (fresh off Remnant: From the Ashes), players will team up as War —protagonist of the first Darksiders— and for the first time, his brother Strife in this online and local co-op action Hack and Slash.

Acting as a prequel to the original game, War and Strife set out to stop Lucifer and the Master Demons that threaten to upset the balance of good and evil. It's a noticeably smaller-scale release when compared to previous games, but after the less-than stellar performance of Darksiders III, the reduced risk suggested by a more modest title bodes well for the continuation of the franchise.

Darksiders Genesis will initially launch on PC and Stadia December 5th. PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch will receive the game 14th February 2020.
