Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Reveal Trailer

Warner Bros. Games and DC have announced Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, a new genre-bending action-adventure shooter that can be played solo or with up to four friends in online co-op. Based on iconic DC characters that we all know and love, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is developed by Rocksteady Studios, creators of the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham series. Combining the studio’s signature character-driven story gameplay with third-person shooter action to deliver a gaming experience unlike any other.

Featuring an original narrative set in the DC universe, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League takes place in a richly detailed open-world Metropolis. The story follows Suicide Squad members Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark who must take on an impossible mission to save Earth and kill the world’s greatest DC Super Heroes, The Justice League. Restrained with lethal explosives implanted in their heads, all four DC Super-Villains have no choice but to band together and carry out this untenable assignment as part of Amanda Waller’s infamous Task Force X. Each squad member has their own unique moveset with enhanced traversal abilities to freely explore the dynamic open-world of Metropolis, along with a variety of weapons to customize and skills to master.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be available worldwide in 2022 for Windows, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Tonally this looks amazing.

On paper, it sounds like DC's version of Marvel's Avengers. Harley Quinn is Black Widow, Deadshot is Iron Man, King Shark is Hulk and Captain Boomerang is Captain America.

Though the "original narrative" bit is hilarious, since Brainiac has taken control of the Justice League about 40 times.

Given there's not a lot else we can take away from the reveal, I have to say I agree that tonally I really like what they're doing here. Though, it's not too dissimilar from the film etc. But I'm a fan of the humour. Conversely, a lot of the Marvel Avenger's tone comes off as cringey. I'm excited to see more of this one though but it's made a great first impression.
