Survive a Lovecraftian Vision of Mars in Moons of Madness

Originally released on PC in October 2019, Moons of Madness, from Rock Pocket Games, is out now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Check out the launch trailer above for a peek at the cosmic horror awaiting console players.

Set in a Mars-based research facility where nightmarish creatures are running amok and reality is descending into surreality, players will fill the spacesuit of Shane Newehart, the facility's Chief Engineer. Make no mistake, however, this isn't DOOM; there'll be no ripping and tearing of demonic limbs here. Newehart will struggle to survive any given encounter with this game's foes on his mission to secure an escape. Fast feet and a faster mind are the only things that'll see Shane surviving to the end credits.

Despite its initial release on PC, Rock Pocket Games feels that Moons of Madness is well-suited to consoles too. Ivan Moen, the studio's CEO, stated when discussing the topic: "We are well aware that many players prefer to play horror games on console, on a bigger screen and with the curtains closed".

Interestingly, Moons of Madness shares a universe with publisher Funcom's MMO title, The Secret World. The two will share themes, names and concepts; however, familiarity with The Secret World will not be necessary to enjoy Moons of Madness.

Moons of Madness is out now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in all regions except for Japan, South Korea and select Asian countries. These locations will receive the game later this week.
