Transformers: Devastation Gameplay Trailer

Last month we reported on leaked images of an unannounced Transformers title. Now it is announced!

From PlatinumGames, developer of Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2 and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance amongst others, are putting their spin on the Transformers brand.

Published by Activision, it is an over-the-top action brawler starring the Generation One Transformers, those which were in the original 1980s cartoon. Fan favourites such as Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Grimlock and Bumblebee are joined by lesser known characters (to those who are only aware of the Michael Bay movies) such as Wheeljack, Blitzwing, Sideswipe, the Insecticons, Shockwave, Thundercracker and Skywarp.

And, of course, the Constructicons in the form of the gestalt (combiner) Devastator.

What's more, Peter Cullen and Frank Welker are back as Optimus and Megatron!

The last game in the brand was Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, which was met with a lukewarm review from us.

Transformers: Devastation has no release date, but is coming to PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One
