War Thunder 1.49 Dev Server Opens For A While and Shows Off Some New Content
Gaijin Entertainment has released some content of the upcoming War Thunder 1.49 release for testing on the Dev Server today, from 1000 GMT to 1400 GMT. This round of Dev Server opening is a content test, with the focus mostly on the new vehicles and maps that is scheduled for Update 1.49.
We got a sneak preview of the content from the US & Russian trees mostly, as well as new maps, with the new British, German and Japanese vehicles not included yet.
We've previously covered a preliminary list of vehicles for 1.49 in one of their press releases, but with this devserver content update there were still quite a few surprises in store for us.
Among the new additions were:
- Il-2-37 for the Soviets, a Sturmovik equipped with twin NS-37 cannons but limited external ordnance.
- An early P-51 variant for the US tree, with 4 Hispano cannons
- Wetmore's P-51D-10 premium, likely to be part of the 'Weapons of Victory' series
The US tank destroyer tree finally makes its debut, with a bunch of powerful guns available for anti-armour role, with some blessed with blistering speed as well to zip around the map.
There's also a handful of new Soviet vehicles available, including an end-game tank destroyer in the SU-122-54 with quite a nasty punch.
The three new maps also make their debut: Berlin, Hurtgen Forest and Normandy, with unprecedented levels of detail going into these maps, providing vastly different environments for planes and tanks to do battles in.
And there's still the Fleet Air Arm planes that are not shown yet...
We'll continue to bring you updates as more is revealed.
