War Thunder Update Brings Italian Forces

Gaijin Entertainment is continually building the nations to their massive free-to-play flight MMO War Thunder. As part of the latest update, version 1.69, the team at Gaijin have introduced the nation of Italy. It’s the sixth nation to be added and includes an offering of 35 of historically accurate representations of their Air Force.

The new Italian aircraft includes famous biplanes from the 1930’s all the way to the powerful jet fighters of the 1960’s. Much like other nations each plane can be unlocked, upgraded, and customised using in-game research. On top of this, other nations including the United States, Soviet Union, and Germany also get additional ground vehicles. New features are also added to add additional strategy to the battlefield. Smokes shells and smokescreen launchers can be deployed over large distances to create a cover from enemy fire, giving the opportunity to defend/capture a point or repair mid-battle.

Three new locations have also been added. For ground battles, Kuban has been revamped to make tank combat more tactical and varied. Pilots get to fly above the hot sands of Tunisia and naval captains can take to the wave in the Black Sea on the Port of Novorossiysk.

Finally, for PlayStation 4 Pro and 4K TV owners, you can now experience War Thunder at higher visual fidelity and in native 4K resolution.
