Three Tips For Quick Runes in ELDEN RING

Runes… The lifeblood of our characters, and currency for levelling our stats. We need these to better ourselves and our equipment, but I always feel that it’s a struggle to obtain a large quantity. Granted, I am bad at ELDEN RING, but hopefully these three tips help you gain the advantage. Also, in case you missed it, here's our fantastic ELDEN RING review!

1. The Massive Dragon

Over on the east side of the map is a massive dormant dragon; one that’s seen a thousand lifetimes. What you need to do is head over and find the Fort Faroth Site of Grace, make sure you touch some grass, then you should be literally at the tail end of this behemoth.

Simply attack the tail — which will take some time — until the dragon has expired. Once it’s dead, this should net you in excess of 75,000 runes and some dragon hearts. That many runes for a few minutes' work is insane and a complete boon for someone just starting out, as levelling costs are low. However, this is a one-time deal as there’s no repeating this tip.

Although this all takes a while, you can reduce the time it takes to kill the dragon if you have the Uchigatana; the weapon applies a bleed effect which should deal around 13,000 damage total once it pops. However, this will differ depending on your character stats.

2. The Giants of Stormhill

While these appear dangerous at first sight — massive, lumbering, dishevelled giants with a sword the size of King Kong’s willy — they’re actually quite easy to defeat. Once you’ve acquired Torrent, your horse, head up to this location as indicated on the map.

There’s five of these enemies in close proximity to each other, offering 1,000 runes each upon death. Taking all of them down takes no time at all and you can simply rest at a Site of Grace to reset them. Rinse and repeat, and you’ll be building your rune balance to quite healthy levels.

3. The Indiana Jones

This one requires no killing whatsoever and is the fastest of all three tips on offer. Head over to Caelid and find yourself the Lenne’s Rise Site of Grace, as this will be your rest point for this incredibly short run.

Once here, mount up and follow the blue crystals down the path that leads under the bridge. A short way down, a big sphere will spawn behind you and roll towards you at great speed. However, if you hook a u-turn towards the cliffside, the sphere should then roll off, netting you 1,952 runes.

Fast travel back to Lenne’s Rise to repeat the process, which should take approximately 20 seconds in total. Farm this for an hour or so and you should have an incredibly healthy pocket full of runes. I will say though, there have been the odd few times that I’ve baited the ball to oblivion and not received a payout; should that happen to you just reset and retry.

Have some farming sites of your own? Let us know in the comments.
