The Lowdown From Ubisoft's Watch_Dogs 2 Live Event

In case you didn't know, Watch_Dogs 2 is coming. The game has been teased by Ubisoft already and many expected it to be a big announcement at E3. Instead, they will be showing a demo at the event, but the game itself was announced in a live stream on YouTube earlier this afternoon.

The new title sees you in San Fransicso, as Marcus Holloway, a member of hacking group DeadSec. The game takes on a very different tone this time round, with the theme of hacktivism very much in the fray. With visuals reminiscent of groups like LulzSec and Anonymous, the game incorporates much more internet culture than before. Memes will be more featured, as well as that cyber culture and anonymity that such groups are known for. The developers were keen to stress that they were inspired by reality.

You'll have a number of additional abilities this time round. One of the big changes is an expanded focus on parkour, with Mirror's Edge style freedom of movement now available. You've also got a Quadcopter and a robotic arm at your disposal. The world has been expanded in scope so you can hack every car and every person, as well as most of the city's electronic devices.

The game will be out on the 15th of November for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. In the meantime, Ubisoft will be showing off a playable demo at E3 next week, and we can expect to see more of DeadSec over the coming weeks.
