Second Sight Diaries Part Six

Second Sight Diaries Part Six

This is my exploration of Second Sight, where I will chronicle my playthrough like a text-based Let’s Play. Now let’s begin…

After escaping from a hospital, John Vattic had managed to locate and rescue Jayne Wilde, and they were now looking for their former squad commander…

The level Entrapped began beneath the Penfold Asylum on 6th of October at 2005hrs, in the vast storm drainage system. Before I could round the first corner, three soldiers slid into the system with us, so I quietly tranquilised them.

There was only one door leaving the tunnel, so I peeked through only to spot another soldier walking into view. After he turned around, I went through and tranq’d him, then Projected myself down the nearby stairs and ladder to check for more, though the tunnel was empty. The chamber it led to, however, had four troops inside.

I decided to Project myself back into the chamber once I led Jayne closer, and possessed one of the soldiers to shoot the others. When the way was clear, I went inside and tranquilised the remaining one.

There were two levers separated by ladders, but after attempting to raise a gate blocking my way by trying to be in two places at once with my Projection and Telekinesis, I realised that I could squeeze through the sluice gate. Had it been open already? Did I open it? No idea.

Two people were visible without getting out, so I shot them and went through a door where a lever allowed me to retrieve Jayne. I made her stay back when I spotted another soldier, so I shot them and then used Telekinesis to activate a lever, which opened two gates.

That appeared to be a mistake, however, as troops flooded in to shoot at me! I had picked up an SMG, so used that and my powers to kill the attackers. After I once more retrieved Jayne, a soldier that I’d missed radioed asking for backup! I shot him, but it was too late and a couple more came after me, but we made it out of the chamber safely.

A ramp led us down, so I checked it out with my Projection, finding it led to a long, straight tunnel filled with soldiers. Possessing one, I shot a couple of others before I ran out of psi power, so I waited for it to recharge then used my powers to dispose of the other two, and obtained a shotgun.

At the end, I used Telekinesis to activate the left-hand lever instead of the right, and it’s a good thing too, as I spotted someone peeking around the corner! It would have been a moment too late if I’d chosen the right-hand lever. As such, we exited through a drain and into a very large chamber where I tranq’d three guards. I’m sure the ones who fell face-first into the waist-deep water were fine.

There was an elevator, but it had been deactivated. However, by only climbing a ladder, shimmying across a ledge, then climbing another ladder, I was able to reach the top to reactivate it for Jayne! Oh, and I had to tranq a few more soldiers who were patrolling around the top, but not looking down. I actually activated the elevator using Projection, but hadn’t taken out the troops, so I had to frantically work to do that before Jayne reached the top…

As there were lasers blocking the way, I used Projection to possess the man guarding the controls, deactivate the lasers, then walk him away from them so that he didn’t reactivate them. I then TK Blasted him and led Jayne through a hallway and down a ladder.

Some stairs led us to yet another chamber with a few soldiers inside, so I TK Blasted them, then tranq’d the one person left guarding the tunnel leading out. Before we left, however, I checked ahead with Projection, but found nothing — until the “danger” music started, so I immediately returned to my body and found two soldiers at the tunnel entrance right in front of me? I hadn’t passed them, and there were no pipes for them to slide down…

Luckily, they didn’t see me standing right there, so I tranq’d them, and we hurried into the tunnel. Only to find more people ready to shoot me! I fought them off with powers and my SMG, and we slowly made our way forwards. There must have been a dozen of them and they kept calling for reinforcements, but we reached the ladder at the end, taking us to a manhole cover in the street.

We took refuge behind a wall, and Jayne asked if I was alright, so I told her about the flashbacks, if that’s what they were. She told me that we needed to find the Colonel, who was alive despite her saying that he was dead a short while ago. “They” court-martialed him and tried to arrest him, but he slipped Jayne an address to hide out and escaped.

So, Streetlife began with us in Queens, New York City, on 7th October at 1900 hrs. As it was only a brisk four and a half hour drive, clearly we’d had time to rest, find clothes, and steal the car we arrived in. However, two men were standing in front of the building we stopped at, so Jayne put her foot down to get us out of sight, though they chased us. I told her to pull over, then jumped out and told her to circle the block while I ducked into a garage.

Two National Security Executive agents were nearby and looking for Starke, talking about how they were going to murder him, when the guy who had been running after our car caught up, asking if they’d seen us. They pointed him towards the garage, saying that they’d heard a car pull up and drive away, but hadn’t seen us, so as the shutter dropped down, he told them to guard the rear while he attempted to get inside.

Quickly checking out the garage, I found a Sawn-off shotgun upstairs, and a duct in the back room large enough for me to crawl through. One of the agents was standing right in front of me, so I tranq’d them from the safety of the vent, then somehow wasn’t spotted by the second agent as they walked past.

Hurrying through the alleyway, I was blocked by a group of gang members who had no intention of letting me go past, even hidden by my Charm power. I climbed a ladder just beside them, and as I rounded the corner, a gang member was assaulted by an agent, so I used Telekinesis to save him. He ran to a nearby door and entered it, telling the person inside about the armed men looking for Starke. The woman asked how they would get a package delivered with the authorities around.

She wasn’t happy to see me and told me to get lost. I tried to explain how I knew Starke, but she wanted proof that I was trustworthy. So, I offered to deliver the package — which she said was “Tulips from Amsterdam” — and I left through the loading bay out the back.

While I was looking for my destination, which wound up being just opposite the garage duct I’d crawled out of, I managed to tranq all of the agents in the area. After getting buzzed in, the recipient mentioned that I wasn’t a Viper. He claimed that it would be safer for me if I had “The Mark”, AKA a gang tattoo, which he was happy to give me.

The Mark allowed me safe passage past the group who had refused to let me pass. Safe was a relative term, however, as the agents began an assault! I quickly climbed a short ladder and fired down at them, and at those foolish enough to follow after me. The flood of agents finally ended, so I climbed down and went deeper into Viper territory, but more agents came after us!

We fought them off and I reconnected with the group, and I asked about Starke. They pointed me to his apartment, so I climbed the fire escape up to it and went inside…
