Final Fantasy VIII Remaster is on the way

Rumours have been floating around for a while surrounding the HD Remaster of Final Fantasy VIII and today Square Enix confirmed those rumours. 

Presumably in a similar vein to the Final Fantasy X/X2 Remaster this will likely just be a visual and graphical overhaul, with very few, if any, changes to actual gameplay. It will go a long way to bringing the game to the modern era though, as outside of the PC port the game has never been released on a platform other than the original PlayStation.
