gamescom 2022 Future Games Show: Stray Blade Trailer

Stray Blade is a colourful fantasy-themed open-world RPG, from developers Point Blank, that featured in this year's gamescom. Its visual style may lean more toward cartoonish rather than realistic, but it still seems relatively brutal - with a very strong emphasis on combat. Forging new weapons and improving your skills with them, through an extensive skill tree, seemed to be a big focus of the trailer. However, there were also other features shown such as mining (presumably mineral gathering for weapon improvement) and armour customisation.

There's no telling whether the world is totally open, like Skyrim, or if its areas that are separate like a JRPG, but the characters seem interesting and colourful enough.

Stray Blade is set for release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
