Freebie Feelers… Assassin’s Creed III
Freebie Feelers is a series where we download the free monthly console-specific or newly released free-to-play games to test their worth. This series will contain some useful information as well as plenty of personal opinion. While these articles may not be reviews, we hope that you will be able to use them to help decide whether that free download is worth it.
What Is It?
Assassin’s Creed III is the free Game With Gold for Xbox 360 and Xbox One until June 16th 2017. It is an action-adventure game that also has some wild mechanics like naval combat and even stealth. You play as Connor, a young Assassin who has seen some awful things during the American Revolution. He must exact his revenge on the people who ruined his life. While you play the main protagonist ages, which is an interesting concept and one of which I haven't seen done many times before.
What Do You Think?
Assassin’s Creed III has a great setting and atmosphere! It really is true to the image of the American Revolution. The story is heavily focused on the revolution and has you meeting iconic historical people like Benjamin Franklin, George Washington and some other figures that were heavily involved in the American Revolution.
This title may be old but it still looks gorgeous, it also plays as well as some of the new titles like Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag or Assassin's Creed Syndicate. It may not look as good as some of the newer titles of the series but what do you expect from a five year old game? The game is still a load of fun, it has some of the best gameplay of the Assassin's Creed series.
Is It Worth Downloading?
If you haven't played Assassin's Creed III before, then I can tell you are missing out on a great game and a great series. Assassin’s Creed III has made a great change to the setting and it was great seeing all the historical aspects come to life in a videogame.
There is a form of multiplayer however, when I tried to play it on Xbox One, I had huge difficulties getting into a game. When I did get into a game I was disconnected straight away.
