E3 2021: Nintendo Announces Astria Ascending Release Date During Nintendo Direct

Nintendo announced the release date for upcoming turn-based RPG Astrid Ascending at their Nintendo Direct event at E3 2021 on 15th June. The game is currently set to release on 30th September this year.

Astria Ascending is a hand-drawn 2D turn-based RPG with fully hand-painted backgrounds and worlds. The game features writing from Kazushige Nojima and an original score from Hitoshi Sakimoto, both of Final Fantasy franchise fame. Nojima is known for writing on games such as the original Final Fantasy VII and its recent remake, Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy X and its sequel Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy XV, and the entire Kingdom Hearts series. Meanwhile, Sakimoto is best known for composing the scores for games such as Final Fantasy XII, 13 Sentinals: Aegis Rim, Tekken 6, and the original Final Fantasy Tactics.

Astria Ascending promises over 20 dungeons, more than 200 monsters that the player can collect and later summon, various mini-games, and at least 50 hours of gameplay.
