HELLDIVERS 2 — A Veteran’s Guide to the Democracy Space Station
The Democracy Space Station, or DSS, is the greatest weapon Super Earth has created so far and has helped Helldivers in many victories, including defending Super Earth itself from a deadly Illuminate invasion. However, it is quite tricky to use and understand. Today, we’ll be teaching you about the most powerful weapon currently at Super Earth’s disposal in HELLDIVERS 2.

You can vote on sending the DSS to a planet that needs liberating or defending, or you can vote to keep it where it is. It moves every four hours, and most of the playerbase will flock to where it is usually. Without anything active, the DSS will passively increase the liberation rate of planets, making it slightly easier for Super Earth to take back what’s rightfully theirs. Additionally, it reduces the cooldown of Patriot and Emancipator Exosuits by 35% which is massive. That’s several minutes gone.
However, if the community contributes enough resources, it’ll activate one of three Tactical Actions to assist Helldivers in defeating tyranny for 24 hours.
Eagle Storm
Rain hell onto the battlefield.
Deploys periodic Eagle Strafing Runs during missions and slows enemy progress in Defense campaigns. Eagle Strafing Runs are extremely helpful, as they can destroy structures and lines of troops without your input. However, they appear with little warning and like everything, they’ll reduce you to paste if you happen to be in their way.

This Tactical Action needs four days before you can contribute your Common Samples again, and you can only add 75 per day.
Orbital Blockade
The Wall of Liberty
Defense Campaigns cannot originate from the current planet the DSS is on and the Hellpod Space Optimization Booster is automatically active for all missions.

It might not seem like much, but HSO is the most commonly used booster, so it frees up a slot for something else, and it can stop Defense campaigns cold, giving Helldivers enough time to turn a losing fight into a win. It only needs two days before you can contribute your Requisition Slips again, and you can only add 50,000 per day.
Heavy Ordinance Distribution
When in doubt, Orbital 380mm Barrage!
Gives access to the Orbital 380mm HE Barrage stratagem for everyone during missions and accelerates progress in Liberation Campaigns. It needs five days to cooldown before you can contribute your Rare Samples again, and you can only add 50 per day.

Fun fact: It used to be Planetary Bombardment, but uh… as it turns out, having 380mm shells constantly raining from the sky led to the mysterious disappearance of many, many heroes.
Don’t feel like you need to spend your precious samples and slips on the DSS. They’re of much better use on upgrading your ship modules first. The DSS is a money sink for players who have nothing else to spend their resources on, but a vote is free! Remember to vote for the planet you feel the DSS will be most useful on, recruit! It could be the difference between a win or a loss of a Major Order.
