HELLDIVERS 2 — A Veteran’s Guide to The Best Warbonds
Warbonds are the lifeblood of Super Earth’s duty to capitalism in HELLDIVERS 2 While every Helldiver starts with the “Helldivers Mobilize!” Warbond (which is really good and you shouldn’t sleep on), for a measly 1000 Super Credits (SC) or one Warbond Token for all those Super Citizens, you can purchase yourself one of the many Warbonds (or battle passes) available at the Acquisition Center.

Check the Superstore regularly!
They will never expire, you can get them at any time, and SC is actually pretty easy to obtain as they can be found at Points of Interest (10 SC per pickup, but also 100 SC if you’re lucky). However, with so many available, it’ll be hard to choose one, and there is a chance you might feel some regret. Not all of them are bangers, after all. So, here are just some of the Warbonds I recommend and the things to unlock first.
Democractic Detonation
When in doubt, C4.
This is what most veteran Helldivers will suggest unlocking first and foremost. It features great weapons that are effective for all fronts for both killing enemies and destroying objectives. The Eruptor and Grenade Pistol are must-haves in any diver’s arsenal.

And, if you just need something to go away now (like a Bile Titan, Charger, or any enemy spawner), stick them with the G-123 Thermite grenade and watch the fireworks.
Steeled Veterans
Service is eternal.
This Warbond isn’t the best, but it came with the Super Citizen Edition for a reason before it was changed.

Coming with Servo-Assisted armour that increases your throwing range and limb health, you also get access to the Senator, a revolver that can take down anything with enough well-placed shots, and the Breaker Incendiary, one of the best bug extermination guns in the game.
Cutting Edge
The bleeding edge of Super Earth.
The Arc Resistance passive was very, very pointless back in the day, used only for protecting you from an ally’s Arc Tower, and it has now found its niche in the Illuminate front as you’ll encounter electric attacks more often. You’ll be surprised how effective 95% damage reduction can be against the squids. You might even use yourself as a makeshift conductor.

If anything, grab this Warbond for Stun Grenades to… stun your foes, and the Sickle and Blitzer for an infinite ammo assault rifle and shotgun, respectively.
Urban Legends
Take it to the streets.
The Siege-Ready passive that comes with this Warbond makes most weapons faster to reload and carry 20% more ammo, which is very nice, but you should really gun for the Anti-Tank Emplacement for 110 Medals.

It was overpowered in HELLDIVERS, and it’s even more effective in HELLDIVERS 2. With 40 rounds, you can solve a lot of problems very quickly. It can take care of Strider Convoys by itself when put in the right position… just be aware of its glacial turning speed.
Viper Commandos
Predator and prey.
Peak Physique might sound pretty bad, but improved weapon handling can make guns like the Heavy Machine Gun much more usable, and better melee isn’t bad either.

But for some real firepower, the Liberator Carbine is a serious hidden gem. It has all the same stats as the Stalwart support weapon except for its ammo capacity, and through weapon customisation, it can become laser accurate. Also, the Experimental Infusion booster can be a godsend for most divers, as for every stim used, you temporarily get infinite stamina and some damage resistance.
Servants of Freedom
Never go quietly into the night.
Two words: Portable Hellbomb. If you need a large area or objective gone (like Stratagem Jammers), just activate it, (optionally) drop the pack, and run before it sets off.

But, if you want weapons, the Ultimatum is a nice “emergency delete” sidearm and, with the Inflammable armour passive (check the Superstore or Freedom’s Flame Warbond) and Vitality booster, the Double-Edge Sickle becomes better than its original variant with a bigger heat sink and increasing damage/armour penetration the longer you fire. Just be aware that it will set you on fire if you hold the trigger for too long, but it can be mitigated by lying prone.
Ultimately, I can’t convince you to spend your Super Credits on anything. Just buying a Warbond you find interesting is good enough. However, I do recommend doing your research and spending your SC wisely, recruit!
