Tribeca Games Spotlight 2022: A Plague Tale: Requiem

Tribeca Games Spotlight 2022: A Plague Tale: Requiem

Developer Asobo Studio and publisher Focus Entertainment presented A Plague Tale: Requiem, sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence, at the Tribeca Games Spotlight showcase on 10th June. A Plague Tale: Requiem is currently set to release in 2022 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is a third-person action-adventure game that follows siblings Amicia and Hugo from the previous game as they try and start a new life, only to be stopped by Hugo’s curse. In an attempt to stop the curse and find salvation, the siblings aim to locate an island that may save Hugo.

“Amicia is a young girl. She is not a warrior, so Plague’s gameplay focuses more on stealth and survival, the goal being to always outsmart enemies to survive– be it rats or human enemies,” said Kévin Choteau, A Plague Tale: Requiem’s director while talking about gameplay during the presentation. “Then again, Amicia will have to fight sometimes and be strong, so some parts are more action-oriented, more combat-oriented. Altogether, the narrative pace serves the evolution of Amicia.”

While presenting A Plague Tale: Requiem, the game’s creative director David Dedeine described the origin of Asobo Studio. “We are an independent development studio. We have been since our creation and since forever. The studio was created by twelve passionate people practically operating from a garage. Today, we are 250, but that’s a team of 250 passionate people too. That’s what allows us to give life to incredible projects such as Microsoft Flights Simulator and Plague Tale: Requiem, for instance.”

A Plague Tale: Requiem will be available in 2022 for the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Its prequel, A Plague Tale: Innocence, is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
