Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022: Forza Motorsport (2023) Gameplay Reveal
Turn 10 Studios revealed gameplay for the eighth entry in the mainline Forza Motorsport racing series, Forza Motorsport (2023), at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022 during Summer Game Fest on 12th June. Forza Motorsport (2023) is slated to release in 2023.
Forza Motorsport (2023) is the eighth mainline entry in the Forza Motorsport series and the 14th overall Forza game. The Forza Motorsport series was originally created to serve as a rival for the PlayStation-exclusive racing franchise Gran Turismo but separated itself by promoting car culture and aiming to appeal to a casual audience instead of racing simulation enthusiasts.
“Forza is known for its photo-real beauty and state-of-the-art immersion,” said Dan Greenawalt, General Manager of Forza Motorsport (2023). “Built from the ground up to showcase the Xbox Series X and S consoles, including techniques like real-time ray tracing on track, this is the most technically advanced racing game ever made.”
Unlike previous Forza Motorsport entries, Forza Motorsport (2023) features a dynamic time-of-day system including day and night hours, a physics-based lighting system to enhance realism, and weather-based changes to the race track’s surface temperature and grip. The game also includes player-requested features, such as multiple tire compounds, pit management, and in-car building.
“We’ve completely overhauled the driving experience. This includes a 48 times improvement in the fidelity of our physics simulation,” said Chris Esaki, Creative Director at Turn 10 Studios, as he showcased gameplay from Forza Motorsport (2023). “Everything you see is new and has been captured with photogrammetry and 3D material scans. Advanced rendering and procedural generation techniques bring a new level of realism to the track.”
Forza Motorsport (2023) will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC in Spring 2023.
