Should You Play My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock Before My Time at Evershine?
Pathea Games' upcoming third entry to their My Time at series doesn't have a release date yet. This makes it a perfect time to ask an important question: should you play the first two entries before jumping into My Time at Evershine?
The franchise has two previous titles, My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock. Each one offers a different city, cast of characters, and wildly different settings, as the latter is in a desert. But there's more to the series than what one might expect from a cosy farming simulator!

Pathea's games have deep narratives that unfold alongside the cosy gameplay. The franchise is set in a post-apocalyptic world at the brink of a possible war, but manages to balance wholesome with depthful and meaningful. It touches on subjects such as whether technology and its possible uses and downsides, a discussion that is relevant even in today's world.
While the franchise is beloved for many aspects, one of its highlights is the stories and nuanced characters. Starting from the third entry skips many of the impactful details that make the experience so memorable.

Unless you don't care at all for worldbuilding and narratives, you can skip it. Otherwise, it's better to begin from My Time at Portia and follow up with Sandrock so that you may be better-informed and accustomed to the world!
Throughout the titles, there are various references to other cities, the state of the world, and even characters present in the other titles. With My Time at Evershine taking place at a pivotal location (the Peripheries of the Free Cities), it's likely that the narrative will call back to various events in the previous ones.

My Time at Evershine is available to wishlist and follow on Steam!
