When Should You Buy Spirit City: Lofi Session's DLC?
Recently, Spirit City: Lofi Sessions released their fifth DLC (or fourth, if you don't count the supporter pack). As it's not quite a game but a focus app, it might be confusing to tell when or if you should get any DLC, so let me give you some thoughts about it as someone who owns every single one and has over 1,000 hours in the game.
Out of the three DLC, two of them are cosmetic packs: the Winter Spirit Cosmetics and the Supporter Pack. They offer different looks for the Spirits, the former being holiday-themed and the latter galaxy ones. Both of these amount to a total of 62 new skins, and they immediately unlock without the need for Credits, the in-game currency that accrues whenever online.
The other three — Cozy Kitchen, All Aboard!, and the newly released Enchanted Garden — are an expansion to the base game. Each one offers a new location with two areas to customise and hang out in; they also bring new Avatar activities and Spirits.
Despite Spirit City: Lofi Session's main premise being a focus tool, the team achieved a gamified sense of progression in the form of in-game currency and various unlockables, such as Spirits and cosmetics. While the Credits are easier to get nowadays — at the time of writing, I have over 41k after splurging in Enchanted Garden — they still require some patience to earn. This is good, of course: it offers a sense of progress and rewards you for commitment. In my case, I always log in when I'm working, so it gives me something to look forward to in long days.
The other sense of progression and engagement comes from unlocking all the Spirits or items. This is something I look forward to with every new expansion, as I love collecting every adorable buddy and having a plethora of new items to unlock, clothing- and furniture-wise.
So, unless you're bored with the base game or love trains, kitchens, or gardens a lot, it's worth waiting to get the DLC until you've saved up a nice amount of Credits. This way, you won't end up gaining access to a ton of new content and items with no way to unlock them for a while. This also opens up the opportunity to snag them at a discount, as Mooncube Games is quite generous with them!

Aside from the Credits conundrum, I'd suggest thinking about how you use the game and what each DLC offers. Some people use Spirit City: Lofi Sessions to mirror what they're doing IRL; others like to set up an aesthetic inner world before they work. Each DLC offers a different "vibe", cosmetics, Spirits, and activities.
As someone who has all of them, I would say they've all brought something to my experience. I love the scenery and soundscapes of All Aboard!, I appreciate the sense of home completion from Cozy Kitchen, and I've thoroughly enjoyed everything about Enchanted Garden.
In the end, if you have the money and love the game, there isn't a perfect time to get them if you've got the patience, Credits, or real-life money for it. Each DLC offers something more to the game, and if Spirit City: Lofi Sessions offers you comfort in any way, then that's enough to go for it.

Spirit City: Lofi Sessions is available now, as well as its DLC, on Steam!
