Access-Ability Summer Showcase 2025: ChromaGun 2: Dye Hard
Developed by Pixel Maniacs and published by PM Studios, Inc., ChromaGun 2: Dye Hard is the follow-up sequel to Pixel Maniacs' original independent project, ChromaGun, launched on the 16th of February 2016. The first-person puzzle shooter where colours will help you find the way through the world.
Inspired by Portal 2, ChromaGun 2 has players using their colour gun to control droids by colouring them to instruct them on where to move. Change the colour of the droid, and it will move in the direction of similarly-coloured objects, while you can also paint some walls with your Magnetoid Chromatism weapon — move the droids to their destinations and complete the puzzles!
Featured in the Access-Ability showcase, ChromaGun 2: Dye Hard shared the in-depth accessibility options to ensure that many can play the game as well. The colourblind mode assigns shapes to colours to give players an idea of what they are trying to interact with. This will also utilise mixed colour interactions, giving them unique symbols to differentiate them.
For a game all about colour, this gives those who would struggle to enjoy ChromaGun 2: Dye Hard the opportunity to enjoy the colouring experience. The game is set to launch sometime in 2025 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
