Women-Led Games Showcase: Fallen Tear: The Ascension
Fallen Tear: The Ascension saw a highly successful funding period over on Kickstarter, where the title raised $135,918 funds over their original $30,000 pledge goal, unlocking seven of the stretch goals set out by the team. This concluded back on the 1st of October 2024, promising an estimated delivery time for the experience on November 2025, and it's now been nearly a year since all of that unfolded.
Now, Winter Crew Studios and CMD Studios are sharing a bit more information on the in-development title, a 2D metroidvania game where you'll take control of Hira, seeking the truth about his forgotten past. With a fully voice-acted crew and hand-drawn animation, it's a charming title to the liking of many.
Here's what you can expect from Fallen Tear: The Ascension.
- Fluid combat mechanics blending quick-timed gameplay and numerous magical abilities at your disposal
- A deeply personalised experience where your decisions affect not only your outcome, but that of the people you interact with as well
- A traditional metroidvania experience, inviting you to discover new paths and hidden challenges the more abilities you unlock
- Eppansive, ELDEN RING–inspired level design with Zelda: Breath of the Wild open-world map and JRPG goodness with secrets aplenty to discover
Winter Crew Studios and CMD Studios proudly showed off the upcoming Q1 2026 launch trailer for the game!
