Women-Led Games Showcase: A Heavy Morning

Brought by Saf Interactive and Bright Gambit, A Heavy Morning is a visual novel where players will step into the shoes of a young girl who's in a battle against her own mind. The goal should be simple: get out of bed and to work, but it's a lot harder than it seems.

Players will find that simple tasks like getting up will be like a puzzle, where they'll have to choose from different decisions to hopefully break the behaviours that keep her trapped.The game is split between two realms, Reality and Mind Space; the former will centre around the character's actions and behaviours, and the latter uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques that help her understand and confront herself.

• A hand-drawn narrative puzzle where players will embody a character who is struggling with simple tasks, such as getting out of bed.
• Two realms to explore — Reality and Mind Space; the former centres around her actions and behaviours, and the latter uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques to help her get better.
