How to Make Steam Wishlist Collections

How to Make Steam Wishlist Collections

Steam has released a brand-new system in which players are allowed to create collections of their own wishlist. This is an important feature for those who have hundreds of games on their wishlist that they need to sort through, and it makes browsing for Steam sales even more intuitive.

The new functionality dropped on the 22nd of July 2026, but not only would it not be visible to most Steam users (not everyone watches Steam news like a hawk), but it's also a bit nebulous in terms of the how-tos for veterans. While it might be intuitive for newcomers who are clicking buttons willy-nilly, it'll be a new endeavour for those who have been around long enough that their Steam account can legally drink.

Here's how to create the new Steam Wishlist Collections:

  • Go to your Wishlist (visible in the top-right corner of the Steam Store).
  • Click the + button present below the name of any of the games, beside the MY CATEGORIES word.
  • Create a new category by writing in the text field.
  • Click the right-hand button of the field, which should say Add Category.

Now that you've created a new category, all you have to do is follow the steps to add a new one to the list. Go to the +, and then at the bottom, titled MY OTHER CATEGORIES, you should find the ones that you created.

Once you've set a game to a specific category, below the searchable field in the wishlist, you should be able to see the MY CATEGORIES list. This only includes any categories that have games inside of them, but there doesn't seem to be any way to delete created categories once they're made. They won't appear, but they'll be searchable in the Manage Categories menu in the MY OTHER CATEGORIES section, even if they were never used.

Once that's done, you can send a unique link to the specific category to friends who wish to browse your wishlist by using the share button. This unique link will only share content within the specific category or filter that was selected, limiting what can be seen of your wishlist to only those options.
