Access-Ability Showcase 2026: Kernel Hearts
Developed by Ephemera Games and published by Whitethorn Games, Kernel Hearts is an upcoming action roguelike with multiplayer co-op about four magical girls who are trying to save the world. Players will fight angels with the ultimate goal of slaying God.
Kernel Hearts was part of this year's Access-Ability Showcase, so we got to hear about what features players can expect. Here's the breakdown:

- Three difficulty levels.
- A training room to get to grips with the controls.
- The ability to toggle on-screen controls to always have a list.
- Full remapping for controller, keyoard, and mouse.
- Sliders for camera sensitivty.
- Invert controls.
- Toggle vibrations.
- Motion blur, bloom, and screen shake effects can all be adjusted.
- Text boxes are high-contrast.
- In multiplayer, each player can advance dialogue at their own pace.
- Combat won't begin until everyone is ready.
Kernel Hearts has a demo available on Steam! The game is set to release sometime in 2026 for Steam, the Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, the Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5.
