Latin American Games Showcase 2026: Desktop Explorer

Recurring Dream, Outersloth, and indienova have presented a trailer for the upcoming Desktop Explorer, a new title where players can explore an old PC and unravel a mystery. Browse the files and uncover the truth behind the psychological horror experience.

The narrative revolves around players inheriting an old PC from their uncle as part of his inheritance. Despite its age, it manages to turn on, and inside, there’s a note that asks the player to solve a missing person’s case.

Hidden inside the ‘90s-inspired operating system are various clues and puzzles for players to unlock, each unlocking more folders and revealing more about the mysteries pertaining to the computer. Who was using the computer? What happened to the missing person? Find the password, unlock the next folder, and delve deeper into the mystery.

The trailer shows off the nostalgic OS players will be using, as Desktop Explorer presents its glitchy mascot, various types of puzzles, and what players will have to solve. It’s a great show about what we can expect moving forward for the title!

If you’re interested, there’s a demo available on Steam right now to check out Desktop Explorer. The trailer also revealed that the full experience will launch on the 17th of July, so there isn’t much longer of a wait before the release.
